This Worked !!! Before I purchased this, I tried things like limiting fluids before bedtime and waking my Son up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. This helped but it didn't teach his deep sleeping mind and body to connect with the urinating event. He wasn't aware it was happening. These true statements are from the Manual: "Over time, your child will become conditioned to wake up more quickly with each bedwetting incident and will eventually wake up before wetting the bed." and, "A successful treatment requires persistence and positive reinforcement and can take a few months." For us it took 3 1/2 months and there were some bumps in the road but in the end, the signals from the bladder are now recognized and understood in his brain. Hints: Make sure the sensor is cleaned each time with warm water. Even if it looks clean it still might set off the alarm if it isn't. And we found that duct tape was a little stickier than the supplied tape. You can buy duct tape in all sorts of colors and patterns to make it more fun. He and I are thrilled. As an assistant director in a childcare facility, I deal with children of all ages and have had my share of experiences with accidents with children who fall asleep. This seem like the perfect system to help my facility with children who have problems wetting the bed and I would definitely consider using it for our center. We even offer overnight childcare and this seem like the perfect solution for children that we have sleeping over. I would recommend others who work in a childcare facility to try it out as well.

She has saved a lot of money by not buying diapers or pull ups after the success of Chummie. But there are some things money can’t buy and your child’s self esteem is one of them.

“My 6 yr old daughter had a constant terrible "diaper" rash for years due to the fact that she wore a pull-up to bed every night. She is a very heavy sleeper and we tried many many times to get her night time potty trained with no success. We would try to wake her in the middle of the night and take her to the bathroom - only angry and mad or would wet the bed before we got to her. We tried the bed wetting mats and she wouldn't even wake after wetting. Potty training underwear - same thing, she just woke in the morning soaked. So I decided to break down and but the alarm. We used it about 3 weeks and like magic my dear daughter is dry in the mornings. And 90% of the time she doesn't even wake up to go potty. We followed the directions and put one pair of undies over the pair with the sensor attached - which is great because when your child sets off the alarm with a little dab of pee, you can just slide the outer pair back on. We stopped using sound after a few nights because it scared my daughter. Vibration only totally woke her. We'd help her to the potty, she'd go pee and we'd reset the alarm. After about a week she asked if she could take the alarm off after it waked her to go pee. We obliged and she never wet without having it on, once she had already peed in the middle of the night. Then she asked to stop wearing it and... Success!!! I would recommend a bed wetting pad (like the Goodnites kind) for the first little while, because the alarm can go off and not interrupt the wetting the first couple times. Then you can just change undies, remove the wet mat and head back to bed quite easily. After a bit of that, usually just a couple drops of pee set off the alarm and (I'm guessing) the sound/vibration wakes them, making them stop peeing until they get to the potty. It's awesome. You'll be a little tired for a bit, but seeing my daughters terrible rash go away and her confidence grow makes it more than worth the effort and money!!! I should have done it sooner. They say it may take several months to work for some children, but for my daughter it was about 3weeks. I'm so happy I bought this. A great, worthwhile purchase. Put that money towards this and stop your ongoing purchase of pull-ups and potty training undies for good!”

This product was an answer to a prayer. My 6 year old had to wear a pull-up every night and was really bothered by the fact that his younger sister could make it through the night. We constantly re-assured him that he was a "deep sleeper" but he was still upset and I worried that it would limit him in the future with sleepovers. Also the cost of the pull-ups was adding up. I had checked into this product a year ago, but we decided to wait awhile, that was a mistake. I did a lot of research and decided if I was going to invest money into a unit it would be one that had the best reviews which ended up being the Chummie. I ordered this and told my son about it and he was so excited. He loved the chart that he could track his success with. He kept it with a marker in his nightstand drawer and updated everyone regularly. It was so simple to use that after a few nights he would get up himself and I wouldn't know until morning. Within a week he was already having dry nights. After a few weeks he was making it 5-6 nights in a row without the alarm going off and when it did it was because of the tiniest drop and he would still make it to the bathroom in time. By 6 weeks he had met the 2 week straight goal and is now "cured" as he calls himself. He is telling everyone. He is so proud of himself and we are so relieved for him. It was nice to have a product that empowered him to conquer the bedwetting himself. I am amazed at how quickly and easily it worked. The neuromuscular re-education portion is what we were lacking before when we would try to anticipate his bedwetting and wake him up to go. I would highly recommend this to anyone interested and I am going to mention it to my pediatrician the next time we see her so she can inform other patients of its success!

Comment: In almost 12 years, my son had two dry nights, if that. By the time we tried this (his second attempt at an alarm, the first being a different style a couple of years earlier), he was going thru two pull-ups a night and still having leaks. He used this for three months (until he had three weeks straight where he was dry) and has now been dry for about six months, with only three or four accidents in that time. I'm absolutely ecstatic. I am not a very religious person, but this has certainly been a blessing to us.

From my son's perspective, it has saved him the embarrassment of accidents on overnight stays, he thought it was cute :), he liked the different alarms sounds he could set it for, and it was much more comfortable than the other alarm he tried.

I recommend this hands down without any reservations whatsoever. Well worth the money. We have saved way more than that many times over now by not having to buy pull-ups and not having to wash sheets every day.

Comment: This works very well. And it's easy to use. Before we came across this problem with bed wetting, we didn't even really know these existed. You can't appreciate something like this unless you need it. It's small and 'kid cute'. We like that it works efficiently with only a drop of wetness setting off the alarm. It rotates through 5 different alarms so each time it works, it will make a different sound. That way the little one won’t get used to it and sleep through it.

It has helped us sleep better at night - no more getting up to change clothing and bedding. The nights are less stressful and much more peaceful for all of us.
